Greetings to you in Jesus name!
Austin Christian Fellowship of India (ACFI) is a body of believers and its journey started in 2002 as a small home based fellowship and progressively grew into a group of over 47 families and continues to attract a number of visitors each month. Based on the core tenets of ACFI: Prayer, Children, and Missions, our desire continues to be that we be a praying church, helping to nurture our children in Godly values and principles and be mission minded in supporting missionaries and being the hands and feet of Jesus both locally and globally.
Our church is committed to offering a safe and secure environment for all and serves the community through a number of constituent ministries. Our church members engage, encourage and equip each other to grow spiritually and care for each other’s needs through small area care groups. We have greater Austin area bible studies as well as Indian regional language bible studies occurring throughout the year. We conduct watch night prayer service each month and special services throughout the year. We have a curriculum based children’s ministry from toddlers to high school and our children support local outreach by visiting senior living facilities. We partner with local churches in Austin and other sister cities in Texas. In times of natural disaster(s), we partner with established organizations to reach out to those in need. Through the faithful giving of our members we support 8 different missions in India.
Our theme for this year is from Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God". The chapter begins and ends with God is our refuge. The Hebrew definition of this verse is to stop striving, to let go, surrender. God is an absolutely and infinitely perfect being, infinitely above all comprehension and all things are his own. He manifested his power and sovereignty and showed his greatness and dominion. He is the ruler of kingdoms of this earth and the all-powerful Creator of the Universe. God is assigning us a solemn duty so we can observe and feel a sense of his divinity, and humbly submit to him without wise murmuring. We can reflect on what God can do in the face of what we are unable to do and cultivate spiritual serenity and show spiritual calmness which derives from a steady, deep reflection on the ways God has intervened in our lives.
How do we respond to this theme? It is “God’s past” that provides calm for “our future.” Don’t flinch in faith in God. Peace! Be still! (Mark 4:39) Stand still — Know that he is God! Know it, not merely intellectually, but practically, spiritually, and emotionally. He is your and my God. God loves you and wants you to know Him so He can fill you with peace and give you real life -- forever. When you need strength and help, let go and rest in God, your refuge. “Be still and know that I am God.”
If you live in Austin or if you are visiting, I invite you to come and attend our weekly worship service at 10 am on Sundays. It is my privilege to serve in ACFI and I personally welcome you to worship with us, growing in Him and partnering in expanding His kingdom.
We are excited to host Christian Family Conference (CFC) 2017 from June 16th to 18th here in Austin. We have a special speaker Dr N. Jayapaul visiting from India. We would love to have you come and visit with us and be renewed and refreshed.
With Many Blessings
